NCJ Number

Date Published
1979
Length
0 pages
Annotation
The arrest and incarceration of a young man for a hit and run accident while driving under the influence of alcohol are dramatized for a general audience.
Abstract
Scenes of the offender's arrival at jail include his telephone call for help from his father, the security search, and the storage of his possessions. After the young man is sentenced to 1 year in the county jail, a member of the jail classification board explains what he can expect to experience in jail and offers him the opportunity to study for his high school diploma while working at the county's industrial farm. Scenes of his learning experiences at the farm and in the classroom are presented, and the speaker stresses that the youth's own decisions will be the most important in determining what becomes of his life. Supplementary materials are not provided.
