This third annual report outlines the activities of the Ministry of the Attorney General in Ontario, Canada, during 1976-77.
Abstract
The organizational structure and duties of each branch of the ministry are discussed, covering the Office of the Legislative Counsel, the Policy Development Division, Courts Administration and Inspector of Legal Offices, Crown Law Office, the Programs and Administration Division, Civil Litigation and Legal Advisory Services, and Common Legal Services. Functions are described and activity reports provided for the various boards and commissions, such as the Ontario Law Reform Commission, the Assessment Review Court, and the Land Compensation Board. Innovative programs of the ministry are also reviewed and evaluated, such as the expansion of the traffic tribunal concept to metropolitan Toronto boroughs, the community service order program for nonviolent offenders, and occupiers' liability. Tables, an organizational chart, and photographs are supplied, and a list of acts administered by the ministry is appended.
