THE FOLLOWING PHASES OF OPERATIONS RESEARCH ARE OUTLINED BRIEFLY - FORMULATING THE PROBLEM, CONSTRUCTING THE MODEL, DERIVING A SOLUTION, TESTING THE MODEL AND EVALUATING THE SOLUTIONS, AND IMPLEMENTING AND MAINTAINING THE SOLUTION. MATHEMATICAL TECHNIQUES FREQUENTLY USED IN THE ANALYSIS OF OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS ARE DEFINED.
