THE AUTHORS CITE RESEARCH FINDINGS WHICH INDICATE THAT SOME ORGANIZATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF APPROVED SCHOOLS IN ENGLAND MAY BE INCOMPATIBLE WITH FEATURES OF THE 'CHILD CARE' ASPECTS OF THE COMMUNITY HOME APPROACH.
Abstract
ATTEMPTING TO PROVIDE SUBSTITUTE PARENTAL CARE WITHIN A FRAMEWORK DESIGNED FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING WAS FOUND TO REDUCE THE QUALITY OF PASTORAL INTERACTION BETWEEN CHILDREN AND STAFF AND TO CONTRIBUTE TO DISSATISFACTION AMONG THE STAFF. AREAS OF CONFLICT ARE DESCRIBED AND SUGGESTIONS ARE MADE FOR AVOIDING THEM.
