EMPHASIS OF THE MULTIPLE EFFECTS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT ON ILLEGAL MARKETS AND ORGANIZED CRIMINAL GROUPS.
Abstract
UNDERSTANDING OF ORGANIZED CRIME AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC INSTITUTIONS IS ESSENTIAL IF LEGISLATIVE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT DECISIONS ARE TO BE MADE WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR CONSEQUENCES. THE IMPORTANCE OF DEVELOPING DATA BASES FOR ORGANIZED CRIME RESEARCH IS DISCUSSED, AND SUGGESTIONS ARE MADE FOR SEVERAL SPECIFIC RESEARCH PROJECTS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
