Abstract
THE SEVEN DIFFERENT KINDS OF CHECKS A SMALL STORE IS LIKELY TO RECEIVE ARE IDENTIFIED AND THE DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH ACCEPTING EACH ARE DISCUSSED. SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO MINIMIZE THE LIKELIHOOD THAT A CHECK IS 'BAD' ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. CONSIDERED, IN ADDITION, ARE THE TYPES OF IDENTIFICATION THAT SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THE RECOVERY PROCEDURE FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF BAD CHECKS.
