This is the home page for online access to each of the nine brochures in the HELP Brochure Series of the federal Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), with each brochure providing guidance to victims on accessing services that focus on the needs of victims of a specific crime type.
The victim needs addressed pertain to the following crime types: assault, child abuse, domestic violence, impaired driving, homicide, robbery, sexual violence, and stalking. The ninth brochure focuses on what adults need to know about child abuse. In addition to providing a resource for crime victims, the brochures can be helpful for victim service providers who work with victims of the crimes addressed. Each brochure first defines the type of crime and victimization addressed, discusses what to do if you are the victim of this crime, and describes other national resources for more information and assistance to victims of the crime that is the focus of the brochure. The brochure entitled "What Adults Need To Know About Child Abuse" differs from the other brochures in providing information to adults on what constitutes child abuse, and what they should do to help victims of child abuse.
