This handbook introduces potential consultants to the policies and procedures of the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) and establishes the responsibilities of consultants, OVC, and TTAC when responding to requests for training, technical assistance (TA), or speakers and questions from requesters.
Abstract
The objective of the handbook is to assist consultants in providing speaking, technical assistance, and training support for the Office for Victims of Crime. The handbook begins in Chapter 1 with an overview of OVC and the Training and Technical Assistance Center. Following the overview, Chapters 2 through 6 provides general information relevant to all TTAC consultations including the consultant selection process and general responsibilities of all consultants, training and technical assistance requesters, TTAC, and OVC. The handbook refers to consultation generically as Technical Assistance (TA), and reference to the “Consultation Agreement” may indicate an agreement with an individual or with an organization. Answers to frequently asked questions are included in Chapter 7. Chapters 8, 9, and 10 in Part II provide specific information related to each type of consultation provided: speaking presentation, provision of TA, and delivery of training. Copies of all the forms referenced in the handbook are included in the appendix.
