INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM AND ITS NETWORK OF GLOBAL VIOLENCE IS TRACED TO PALESTINIAN TERROR ORGANIZATIONS, THE ARAB-ISRAEL CONFLICT, AND THE SUPPORT OF TERRORISM IDEOLOGICALLY BY IRAQ, LIBYA, TURKEY, AND OTHER NATIONS.
Abstract
PALESTINIANS ARE DISTINGUISHED FROM OTHER GUERRILLAS BY THEIR 'EXPORTATION OF VIOLENCE,' AS REPRESENTED BY THEIR AIRPLANE HIJACKINGS AND ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE THE MIDDLE EAST. SYMPATHETIC NATIONS, MOST NOTABLY LIBYA, AND THE REGIMES OF IRAQ AND THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF YEMEN SUPPLY TRAINING FACILITIES AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THE SOVIET UNION, NORTH KOREA, CHINA, AND CUBA MAY ALSO BE CONSIDERED POTENTIAL SUPPORTERS BECAUSE OF THEIR IDEOLOGICAL SYMPATHIES. THE TERRORISTS' POLITICAL OBJECTIVES ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THE THEORY OF A PERMANENT REVOLUTION AGAINST IMPERIALISM AND CAPITALISM; THIS PRINCIPLE HAS TURNED THE REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS FROM SPECIFIC CAUSES (SUCH AS THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL BY THE PALESTINIANS) TO PHILOSOPHICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL GOALS. DURING THE LAST FEW YEARS, THE POPULAR FRONT FOR THE LIBERATION OF PALESTINE, THEIR COMMANDOES--THE FEDAYEEN, THE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION (PLO), AND THE HARD-LINE GUERRILLA GROUP WITHIN THE PLO--THE AL FATAH, HAVE ESTABLISHED 'OUTPOSTS' IN MANY COUNTRIES; THESE UNITS CAN GO INTO ACTION ANY TIME IN THE INTEREST OF THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE AND 'WORLD REVOLUTION,' WITH LOGISTICAL AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE SUPPORTING NATIONS. SERVICE TERROR, ANOTHER NEW OUTGROWTH, FORCES GROUPS THAT HAVE NO FUNDAMENTAL INTEREST IN GLOBAL ACTION TO AID IN THE EXECUTION OF VIOLENT ACTS IN EXCHANGE FOR NEEDED ASSISTANCE. WITH THE TIES OF THE TURKISH UNDERGROUND, THE JAPANESE RED ARMY, THE IRANIAN UNDERGROUND, AND THE ERITREAN LIBERATION FRONT, PALESTINIANS ARE IN THE FOREFRONT OF AN ALMOST INDESTRUCTIBLE FORCE. THE FAILURE OF THE UNITED NATIONS AND VULNERABLE WESTERN INDUSTRIALIZED NATIONS TO FORMULATE EFFECTIVE ANTITERRORIST MEASURES SERVES AS YET ANOTHER INCENTIVE FOR THOSE WHO ADVOCATE TERRORISM. --IN GERMAN.
