Abstract
The PATHS (Promoting Alternative THinking Strategies) program is an evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) curriculum for use in school settings to help children increase their self-control and recognize and understand how their behavior affects others. This online resource presents information about the PATH program and how it can help to improve school climate and student achievement levels. The site discusses the importance of SEL as a critical component of the educational experience, the basics of SEL, and how students obtain SEL. The site also includes a section on the components of the PATH program for each grade level beginning with preschool/kindergarten and continuing on through grades 5/6. Sample pages of the different grade level programs are included in this section, along with information about the research that led to the development of the program. Additional links on the site include information for current PATH users on conducting an evaluation of their implementation of the program, contact information for receiving training about the program, and a section for ordering the different components of the PATH program.
