Abstract
THE THREE GROUPS OF PEOPLE MOST FREQUENTLY THE VICTIMS OF PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS ARE CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DRINKING. PARTICULAR PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH GROUP ARE DISCUSSED BRIEFLY. TECHNIQUES OF INVESTIGATING PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS ARE EXPLAINED AS WELL AS SEVERAL PREVENTIVE MEASURES THAT THE POLICE CAN TAKE TO HELP REDUCE THEIR NUMBER.
