Abstract
The manual consists of various training activities intended to teach participants about the causes and results of conflict, the role of peer mediators in conflict resolution, effective communication skills, and steps in the mediation process. These steps include opening the session, gathering information, focusing on common interests, creating options, evaluating and choosing among possible solutions, and writing the agreement and closing the dispute. The training activities also help mediators learn to deal with anger and reduce prejudice among their peers.
