Abstract
This report, produced by the Justice Law Center, provides information on the Models for Change initiative. This project, supported by the MacArthur Foundation, is aimed at creating fair and effective juvenile justice systems within each State that will support learning and growth and promote accountability. This report focuses specifically on the success of the initiative in Pennsylvania. The reforms instituted by Models for Change succeeded in Pennsylvania as a result of the public-private partnership formed between the staff of the MacArthur Foundation and the staff of the Pennsylvania Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee (JJDPC), the State's advisory group. The report provides background information on the State's juvenile justice system, and describes efforts to successfully develop the public-private partnership. The reforms instituted in the State were aimed at three targeted areas: aftercare, mental health and juvenile justice, and disproportionate minority contact. This report highlights the work that has been accomplished in these three areas. Appendixes and references
