Based on site visits conducted between June 1978 and February 1979, the reports in this volume evaluate the technical and administrative aspects of State Judicial Information Systems projects in the following 12 States; Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Washington State.
Abstract
These assessments were oriented toward helping States effectively accomplish their goals of developing automated and integrated statewide judicial information systems. The reports were prepared by 12 different teams using a common format that permits comparisons among projects. Each begins with a project overview that covers its history, management, organizational structure and processing, and a project description. The assessment then examines project planning and control and describes the information system in detail. Specific items considered include processing approach, data collection, application software, security and privacy, computer and communications configuration, documentation, implementation, and maintenance. The final section contains the concerns and recommendations of the assessment team, highlights the project's notable achievements, and discusses the system's future prospects. Each report provides a table of contents, charts, and tables.
