STUDY TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE ASSOCIATION OF MARIJUANA USE WITH POSITIVE PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS IS LIMITED TO COLLEGE STUDENT USERS OR COULD BE GENERALIZED TO A RADICALLY DIFFERENT POPULATION.
Abstract
THE FOUR VARIABLES (SOCILIZATION, INTELLECTUAL EFFICIENCY, PSYCHOLOGICAL MINDEDNESS AND EMPATHY) WHICH DIFFERENTIATED AMONG THE FOUR LEVELS OF MARIJUANA USE IN THE INITIAL SAMPLE SHED SOME LIGHT ON PERSONALITY PATTERNS OF MARIJUANA USERS WHO ARE DELINQUENT. FOR THE FORST OF THESE VARIABLES, SOCIALIZATION, AN EXAMINATION OF THE GROUP MEANS INDICATED THAT REGULAR USERS SCORED WITHIN THE NON-DELINQUENT RANGE. IN FACT, THEIR SCORES WERE SIMILAR TO THE MEAN SCORES OF PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE STUDENTS. THE OTHER THREE GROUPS, WHOSE SCORES WERE VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL, WERE SIMILAR TO COUNTY JAIL INMATES.
