This 1980 annual report presents relevant statistics and important accomplishments of the Philadelphia Municipal Court for 1980.
Abstract
Caseloads increased in both the civil and criminal divisions of the court, with the civil division increasing 25,151 cases and the criminal division increasing 2,000. The caseload total for the civil division was 102,466; the total for the criminal division was 58,625, including 16,307 disposed citations. The total caseload of the court came to 161,091; 158,877 cases were disposed for a backlog of only 18,590. A new innovation was the creation of the tax court, which deals only with cases about real estate and school taxes. The report lists the judges of the court and presents an organizational chart; a statistical overview; and detailed data about the civil program, the criminal program, and pretrial services. Photographs, charts, tables, and graphs are included.
