DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT CUT COSTS AND INCREASED THE VOLUME AND QUALITY OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE BY REPLACING PRESS CAMERAS WITH 109 35 MILLIMETER NIKKORMATS.
Abstract
AS A RESULT OF THIS CHANGE, THE DEPARTMENT'S IDENTIFICATION SECTION WAS ABLE TO SWITCH FROM BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY TO COLOR, THE USE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT WAS BROADENED, AN AUTOMATIC PROCESSOR WAS INSTALLED, AND THE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO PROCESS MORE PICTURES FOR LESS MONEY. THE COMPLETE SYSTEM FROM CAMERAS TO PROCESSORS - ENABLES THE SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PRODUCE COLOR PHOTOGRAPHS AT A COST IN MATERIALS ONLY SEVEN PERCENT HIGHER IN PRICE THAN BLACK-AND -WHITE PRINTS WITH THE OLD SYSTEM.
