Abstract
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY WAS TO IDENTIFY AND ANALYZE THE DYNAMICS OF, AND THE MECHANISMS PRESENTLY BEING USED IN DEALING WITH POLICE-COMMUNITY RELATIONS, TO IDENTIFY PROBLEM AREAS IN THE CITIES OF SAN DIEGO AND PHILADELPHIA AND TO PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SUCH CONDITIONS. SAMPLES OF DEPTH INTERVIEW QUESTIONNAIRES ARE FURNISHED AS THEY WERE UTILIZED IN QUESTIONING KEY COMMUNITY INFORMANTS.
