This issue of The Police Chief contains six primary articles on the needs of law enforcement and one article that reports on the 117th Annual IACP Conference.
Abstract
This issue includes six primary articles: 1) IACP Holds Global Summit on Terrorism. This article discusses the IACP global policing summit held in Paris, France, that examined the many facets of terrorism. 2) Power Law Distribution and Solving the Crime Problem. This article focuses on the way that law enforcement defines the problem of crime and examines crimes characteristics as a problem. 3) Perspective on Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). This article discusses the use of neurolinguistic programming techniques in suspect interviews and interrogations. 4) IACP Center for Social Media: Supporting the Needs of Law Enforcement Online. This article presents results of a survey examining law enforcement's use of social media. 5) Team Adam: Providing Missing Child Search Support for Police Agencies. This article discusses Team Adam, an initiative that provides for retired law enforcement officials to aid police agencies in the search for abducted children. 6) Medical Tactics for Law Enforcement: Development of the Rochester, Minnesota, Police Department Basic Tactical Casualty Care (BTCC) Course. This article discusses the development of Basic Tactical Casualty Care Course for use by the Rochester, MN, Police Department in training its officers to render medical care while under active threat. This issue also includes a report of the 117th Annual IACP Conference in Orlando, FL.
