This literature review is the first stage in a research project aimed to develop a traffic law enforcement program in Israel.
Abstract
The review examines various aspects of traffic police activity, emphasizing the relation, possibilities, and potential impacts of enforcement of traffic violation and on road accident prevention. It also reviews the various means and methods of traffic law enforcement, its management aspects, and existing models for resource allocation. Literature discussing the difficulties of measuring enforcement effectiveness is also noted. Charts and tabular data are given.
