This book is designed to teach the fundamentals of photography and their application to police work.
Abstract
In this fifth edition of police photography, the integrity of prior editions has attempted to be maintained. Organized into two main themes, the photographic process and the application of photography in police work, this guidebook is intended to provide comprehensive and detailed information on the essentials and application of photography in everyday police work. New material has been added to include cameras, film, equipment, and processing techniques. In addition, two new chapters have been incorporated on digital imaging and videotapes. The 18 chapters provide specific information on the police photographer, light and the simple camera, types of cameras, film quality, equipment, exposure, the darkroom, black and white film processing in relation to negatives and printing and enlargement, color processing, digital photography, accident photography, crime photography, evidence photography, identification photography, questioned documents, ultraviolet and fluorescence photography, and infrared photography.
