This report presents recommendations on the use of police traffic radar and other electronic speed-measuring devices that were used in enacting legislation in North Carolina.
Abstract
It recommends that the State establish minimum standards and levels of training for radar instructors and operators, establish procedures for the proper care and maintenance of radar and other electronic speed detection equipment, and develop maintenance and calibration records systems to be kept by each agency using radar or similar devices. Appendixes include the legislation adopting these and other recommendations mentioned in the report along with the full text of the study.
