This article summarizes findings from a recent book which compiled author interviews and data from over 500 law enforcement officers across the U.S.
Abstract
The book provides practical strategies for dealing with motorists in both routine and difficult situations, as much of the public attitude toward police stems from police verbal responses to citizens. The book offers practical recommendations on getting citizens to accept traffic violations without wanting to appeal, cutting court time, limiting complaints, strengthening police- community relations, and handling manipulative drivers.
