POLICEMEN HAVE ADOPTED THE VIEW THAT CRIME AND DISORDERS ARE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE INTENTIONS OF EVIL INDIVIDUALS AS A BASIC STRATEGY FOR DEALING WITH PROTEST AND PROTESTERS.
Abstract
POLICEMEN FEEL THAT SOCIAL FACTORS, SUCH AS PERMISSIVE CHILD-REARING PRACTICES, ARE LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SOCIAL DEVIANCE THAT EXISTS TODAY. THEY STATE THAT ORGANIZED PROTEST TENDS TO BE A CONSPIRATORIAL PRODUCT OF AUTHORITARIAN AGITATORS USUALLY COMMUNIST, WHO MISLEAD OTHERWISE CONTENTED PEOPLE.
