The goal of this research project was to examine the population genetic issues that affect the interpretation of forensic DNA profiles.
During the award period, the project published 36 papers on the following topics: 1) interpretation of forensic evidence, 2) interpretation of DNA sequence data, 3) interpretation of lineage marker evidence, 4) interpretation of DNA evidence, and 5) probabilistic genotyping. This report provides summaries of these publications under each of these topics. Topics addressed in the papers that are not related to the five subjects named are presented under “Other Topics.” These papers address “transnational crime” and “laser microdissection.” A list is provided of the titles of peer-reviewed papers and presentations at scientific conferences. 9 references
