EXEMPLARY PROJECT EVALUATION REPORT FOR PORTLAND'S CASE MANAGEMENT CORRECTIONS SERVICES PROJECT (CMCS), A COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM TO PROVIDE INTENSIVE PROBATION COUNSELING AND SUPERVISION TO JUVENILES.
Abstract
THE PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1973 TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO JUVENILE OFFENDERS RESIDING IN HIGH CRIME AREAS OF PORTLAND WHO HAD COMMITTED THE OFFENSES OF BURGLARY, ROBBERY, RAPE, ASSAULT, HOMICIDE, AND/OR MENACING WITH A WEAPON. THE REPORT IS BASED ON A REVIEW OF PROJECT DOCUMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS MADE AND INTERVIEWS CONDUCTED DURING AN ON-SITE VISIT IN APRIL 1976. THE READER IS ADVISED OF STRUCTURAL CHANGES WHICH WILL OCCUR AS THE RESULT OF TERMINATION OF IMPACT FUNDING IN 1976. APPENDIXES CONTAIN A COPY OF THE EXEMPLARY PROJECT SUBMISSION FORM, LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION, A COPY OF THE SIXTH EVALUATION OF CMCS, AND LEAA REGION X COMMENTS ON THAT EVALUATION.
