THIS EVALUATION OF THE RECORDS SYSTEM WAS UNDERTAKEN FOR THE POTTSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA, POLICE DEPARTMENT (WHOSE 40 SWORN AND SEVEN CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES SERVE 25,355 PERSONS IN A BOROUGH AREA OF 5.1 SQUARE MILES).
Abstract
THIS REPORT, DATED NOVEMBER, 1976, RESULTED FROM AN EARLIER STUDY OF THE RECORDS SYSTEM, AFTER WHICH THE POTTSTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT REQUESTED PROPOSALS FOR THE 'DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTER-LINKED RECORDS/MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM'. CONSIDERED IN THIS REPORT ARE THE FUTURE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT'S RECORD-KEEPING CAPACITY AND ITS CURRENT EFFECTIVENESS. IN THEIR REPORT THE CONSULTANTS GENERALLY RECOMMENDED THAT NO AWARD BE MADE OF A CONTRACT TO OVERHAUL THE SYSTEM AT THE PRESENT TIME. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)...KAP
