FOR PART ONE OF THIS DOCUMENT, SEE NCJ-30502, THE SECOND HALF OF THIS REPORT CONTAINS INDIVIDUAL REVIEWS OF THE 216 DOCUMENTS EXAMINED DURING THE COURSE OF THIS STUDY, ORGANIZED IN FIVE SEPARATE APPENDIXES: PRE-TRIAL RELEASE AND DETENTION; ADULT DEFERRED PROSECUTION; JUVENILE DIVERSION; DIVERSION OF THE PUBLIC INEBRIATE; AND ADDICT INTERVENTION. THE MAJOR EMPHASIS, HOWEVER, WAS PLACED ON THE FIRST TWO AREAS. EACH APPENDIX CONTAINS THE RELEVANT REVIEWS AS WELL AS AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF GENERAL RESOURCE DOCUMENTS NOT SUBJECTED TO A FORMAL REVIEW.
