Comprehensive information and data are provided for Colorado's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).
Abstract

The administering agency for the PDMP is the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. Website addresses are provided for various activities related to the PDMP (general information, enrollment, queries, data upload, and statistics). Contact information is provided for the PDMP Administrator and the Program Director. Data for 2017 cover the state population (5,684,203), DEA registered prescribers (31,364), and DEA registered dispensers (926). Available PDMP reports are listed, along with PDMP funding sources and numbers of employees for the following task categories: operational (1), technical (0), analytical (0), and "other" (0). Key PDMP dates are reported for legislation enacted (2005), PDMP becomes operational (2007), initial user access (2008), online access (2008), and electronic reporting (2007). Means of accessing relevant statutes and rules are reported. Data-reporting frequency is daily, no later than the next business day. Reporting is required for controlled substances in Schedules II, III, IV, and V. Miscellaneous PDMP capabilities and policies are listed. PDMP enrollment is required fo prescribers and dispensers of prescription drugs. Regarding PDMP accounts, law enforcement access requires a subpoena, court order/approval, and search warrant.
