The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Training and Technical Assistance Center (PDMP TTAC) reports 2020 data and 2021 features of the Illinois state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).

In 2020, Illinois had a state population of 12,822,739, and there were 65.401 DEA-registered prescribers and 2,240 DEA-registered dispensers. A total of 19 types of reports are produced by the Illinois PDMP. Funding for the PDMP in 2021 came from a BJA grant and a CDC grant. Two employees perform operational tasks; nine perform technical tasks; one performs analytical/epidemiological work; and two employees perform other tasks. Data on PDMP policies and procedures address key dates in PDMP development and information for accessing relevant statutes and rules that pertain to PDMP responsibilities and procedures. Access is through a written request for data. The minimum data elements for a query are a patient last name, first name, and date of birth. Data monitoring encompasses substances in Schedules II-V, with the authority to monitor other substances.
