Abstract

Separate website addresses are provided for the home page, enrollment, queries, and data uploads. Contact information is provided for the PDMP Program Manager and Administrative Assistant. Data for 2017 cover the state population (1,350,575), DEA registered prescribers (8,950), and DEA registered dispensers (269). PDMP available reports are listed. For 2018, funding sources were the state general fund, licensing fees, and a Harold Rogers grant. Personnel data for 2018 cover the following job categories: operational (1), technical (1), analytical (1), and "other" (0). Significant PDMP dates pertain to enabling legislation (June 2012), becoming operational (September 2014), initial user access (October 2014), online access (October 2014), and electronic reporting (September 2014). Sources for statutes and rules regarding PDMP policies and procedures are provided. Reporting frequency for monitored drugs is daily by close of the next business day. Monitored drugs are controlled substances in schedules II, III, and IV. Reporting is also required for naloxone administrations, opioid-related drug overdoses or deaths, registrant's disciplinary history/status, lost/stolen prescription drugs, and drug manufacturers or distributors data. Miscellaneous capabilities and policies are reported. Enrollment in the PDMP is required for both prescribers and dispensers, but use of the PDMP is required only for prescribers, who must query the PDMP for all controlled substances in scheduled II, III, and IV; opioids for the treatment and management of pain; and when for chroniic pain for the initial prescription; and at least twice within the year. Authority to enforce PDMP mandates is given to the Regulatory/Licensing Board. Law enforcement agency access to PDMP data requires a court order/approval and a written request. Other information addresses requestor training, technological capabilities, and reports produced by requestor type.
