VERBATIM EXCERPTS CONCERNING PRE-TRIAL DIVERSION FROM SEVERAL OF THE SIX REPORTS OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE REPRODUCED. INCLUDED ARE SOME OF THE RECOMMENDED STANDARDS FOR PRE-TRIAL DIVERSION PROMULGATED BY THE COMMISSION. DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE STATEMENTS PREPARED BY THREE PROJECT DIRECTORS OPERATING PRETRIAL DIVERSION PROGRAMS IN THE MINNEAPOLIS AREA ARE ALSO PRESENTED. IN ADDITION, A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE TREATMENT RELATED SERVICES AVAILABLE WITHIN THE POLK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COURT SERVICES IN DES MOINES, IOWA, IS INCLUDED.
