A DISCUSSION OF TRAINING NEEDS AND SUGGESTIONS ON RESOURCES AND SOLUTIONS WHICH MIGHT BENEFIT PRE-TRIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR EXAMINES SUCH TOPICS AS ASSISTANCE FROM OUTSIDE TRAINING SERVICES, THE USE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY TRAINING CENTERS, AND TRAINING COURSES OFFERED BY INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT BY SURVEYING CLIENT NEEDS IN EACH PROGRAM, A LIST OF STAFF SKILLS OR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE WHICH MUST BE COVERED IN TRAINING PROGRAMS CAN BE CREATED. SUGGESTIONS ON VARIOUS TRAINING METHODS WHICH MAY BE EMPLOYED AND TRAINING NEEDS FOR PRE-TRIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMS ARE ALSO OFFERED. DISCUSSIONS OF STAFF TURNOVER AND TRAINING, TRAINING MATERIALS AND GOALS, IN-HOUSE TRAINING, AND OUTSIDE TRAINING PROGRAM MODELS ARE PROVIDED AS WELL. A SUGGESTED TRAINING MODEL IS OUTLINED.
