The packet includes a trainer's guide, printed reproductions of overhead transparencies, and a participant's manual. Workshop topics include the challenges and problems that drug treatment programs face with respect to AIDS, management responsibilities for becoming informed about HIV and AIDS, the basic concepts of prevention education, issues related to antibody testing, and ethical issues such as privacy protections and discrimination on the basis of HIV infections. Other topics include the impact of HIV disease on other treatment areas, the elements of strategic planning, and the development of a 6-month work plan for AIDS programming.
