Abstract
POTENTIAL DRUG USERS, BASED UPON SCHOOL DRUG SURVEY DATA, WERE IDENTIFIED, AND THE EXPECTED NUMBER OF FREQUENT DRUG USERS AND ADDICTS PREVENTED BY USE OF TWO POLICIES WAS ESTIMATED. THE TWO POLICIES UNDER CONSIDERATION WERE A JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM INVOLVING A TWO-PERSON DISCUSSION GROUP TO EMPHASIZE 'NATURAL HIGHS', AND A VOLUNTARY STUDENT-TO-STUDENT INSTRUCTION PROGRAM DISCUSSING DRUGS WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN.
