This packet of material presents information about the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice.
Abstract
The National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice, operated by the University of Iowa School of Social Work, assists governments and agencies in building and improving family-based systems and services. The Center provides expert technical assistance on all aspects of policy and program development emphasizing community involvement and cultural competence; assists in training supervisory and administrative professional staff, paraprofessionals, foster parents and community members; and searches, analyzes, synthesizes and disseminates customized information. The Fall 1996 issue of the Center's twice-yearly publication, included in this collection, contains articles about several facets of family-centered practice and a court improvement project. This packet also contains information concerning: available services; research and evaluation projects; family preservation through family-based services; multi-cultural awareness in family-based services; materials available from the Center; Center index to the library; and training programs. The packet also includes information on the Family Resource Coalition and the National Association for Family-Based Services.
