Abstract
THE MATERIAL COVERED RANGES IN SCOPE FROM AN EXPLANATION OF THE INVERSE-SQUARE LAW TO THE PROPER CARE OF BATTERIES AND THE CLEANING OF FLASH CONTACTS. THE SECTION ON IMPROVING TECHNIQUES FOR FLASH PICTURES EXPLAINS THE USE OF BOUNCE FLASH AND DIFFUSION, PAINTING WITH LIGHT, AND FILL-IN FLASH TECHNIQUES. PAINTING WITH LIGHT REFERS TO MULTIPLE FLASH USE, AND FILL-IN FLASH IS THE SUPPLEMENTARY USE OF THE FLASH IN DAYLIGHT. THERE IS EVEN BRIEF MENTION OF SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR SCUBA AND INFRARED PHOTOGRAPHS. THE SLIDES WERE CHOSEN TO ILLUSTRATE TYPICAL POLICE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROBLEMS. AN INSTRUCTOR'S TEXT IS INCLUDED.
