THE BOOK LOOKS AT THE INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT ROLE OF THE PROBATION SERVICE IN PRISONS AND BORSTALS IN GREAT BRITAIN AND DISCUSSES THE LIKELIHOOD OF RADICAL CHANGES OCCURRING WITHIN THE PRESENT SYSTEM.
