THIS REPORT EXAMINES THE METHODS AND PRINCIPLES WHICH HAVE BEEN PROPOSED TO ASSURE THAT GOVERNMENT INFORMATION PRACTICES GIVE ADEQUATE RECOGNITION TO PERSONAL PRIVACY INTERESTS.
Abstract
RECENT LEGISLATIVE ENACTMENTS ARE ANALYZED IN LIGHT OF PRIVACY CONSIDERATIONS AS ARE THE KINDS OF RECORDS ON INDIVIDUALS MAINTAINED BY GOVERNMENTS AND STATE LAWS REGULATING GOVERNMENT RECORDKEEPING. IN ADDITION, THE TYPES OF RECORDS MAINTAINED BY CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES, INVESTIGATORY, ARREST AND COURT, AND CRIMINAL HISTORY ARE EXPLORED AND STATUTES GOVERNING THE DISSEMINATION OF CRIMINAL HISTORY INFORMATION ARE EXAMINED.
