This article discusses private security as enterprise.
Abstract
The privatization of security services is discussed by making reference to the domestic and foreign scientific and professional literature. The activities, jobs, and tasks of private security agencies are analyzed, along with research conducted in the frame of the author’s doctoral thesis. Special consideration and analysis are devoted to the activity of private security services in the Republic of Slovenia. This is compared with the same activity carried out in Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Canada, Germany, Poland, and in Slovakia. The cooperation between the police and private security agencies in the Republic of Slovenia is examined. The author presents and defines a delineation of activities, jobs, and tasks between the police and private security agencies. 19 references
