Annotation
The infinite server, steady state, queuing system with exponential arrival and general service times is proposed as a model for determining the probability of exceeding a given inmate population level in prisons in the United States.
Abstract
This model is also applied to the case in which the average time served is disaggregated into categories and their relative proportions or frequencies of occurrence are known. (Author abstract)
