Abstract
Indiana statutes mandating the authority and duties of probation officers are cited. The duties encompass both those of adult and juvenile probation officers. A section on the preparation of presentence reports focuses on sources of information and their use, the format of the presentence investigation, the outline for the report, and juvenile predisposition investigations and reports. A section on the probation officers' role in revocation covers the reporting of probation violations, the issuing of the delinquent report and warrant, and revocation procedures. All Indiana probation forms are included. They cover the areas of pretrial release, the preparation of presentence reports, presentence reports, probation conditions, supervision, restitution, community service, revocation, termination, and probation office materials. Other materials include a schedule of minimum salaries for probation officers, Indiana probation standards, and the Indiana interstate compact for probation.
