Abstract

The study addresses the nature of scientific research and the particular problems posed by the dynamics of evaluative social research. It outlines commonly used evaluation models and discusses effectiveness measures for intervention strategies at both the preventive and corrections stages. Sociopolitical impacts on program evaluation as well as evaluation impacts on policymaking are discussed in conclusion. Over 200 references are given.
