METHODS USED BY THE JOHN JAY COLLEGE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE TO SET UP ITS CURRICULUM AND TO EVALUATE ITS PROGRAM ARE DESCRIBED; SUCH EVALUATION IS CALLED ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESSFUL REFORM.
Abstract
A VARIETY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, COURT, AND PROBATION AND PAROLE AGENCIES WERE CONTACTED BEFORE THE JONH JAY COLLEGE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE, NEW YORK, SET UP ITS INITIAL CURRICULUM. A THOROUGH EVALUATION IS NOW IN PROCESS. IN ADDITION TO CONTACTING CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES AND STUDENTS AND FORMER STUDENTS, JOHN JAY IS SURVEYING THE PUBLIC AND PROFESSORS IN ORDER TO DETERMINE WHAT TYPE OF EDUCATION WILL BEST MEET THE NEEDS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PERSONNEL.
