ANALYZED DATA FROM RESEARCH ON THE SOCIAL REINTEGRATION OF RELEASED PRISONERS CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE OF CRIMINAL ANTHROPOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GENOA, ITALY.
Abstract
IN THIS ARTICLE THE AUTHORS PRESENT THE DATA EMERGING FROM PSYCHOSOCIAL RESEARCH CONDUCTED ON A GROUP OF 50 RELEASED OFFENDERS AGED FROM 20 TO 69. DATA WERE COLLECTED BOTH DURING THE PERIOD OF DETENTION AND SIX MONTHS AFTER RELEASE. THESE DATA, BASED ON PROJECTIVE PERSONALITY TESTS AS WELL AS DIRECT INTERVIEWS AND QUESTIONNAIRES, ARE RELATED TO AGE, INTELLIGENCE, PERSONALITY TRAITS, INSTITUTIONALIZATION DURING CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, WORKING PATTERNS, CRIMINAL CAREERS, AND LENGTH OF SENTENCE. THE INQUIRIES CARRIED OUT AFTER RELEASE FOCUS ON THE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE FAMILY, THE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED UPON RELEASE AND, AFTER A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS, EMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS AND OPPORTUNITIES.
