Abstract

THE LOCAL LIBRARY IS RECOMMENDED AS A SOURCE FOR BOOK BUDGETS, SALARIES, AND OTHER LIBRARY SERVICES. STAFFING, SPACE REQUIREMENTS, AND LOCATION ARE DISCUSSED IN RELATION TO COSTS. CONSIDERATIONS OF DATE, PUBLISHER, AUTHOR, AND PRICE ARE DISCUSSED AS INFORMATION IMPORTANT TO BOOK SELECTION. A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE CATALOGING PROCESS OUTLINES THE PATH OF THE BOOK FROM THE TIME IT IS RECEIVED TO THE TIME IT IS PLACED ON THE SHELF.
