Abstract
THE GREAT ADVANCES MADE IN POLICE TRAINING OVER THE LAST FIFTY YEARS ARE REVIEWED, WITH EMPHASIS ON THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS NATIONAL ACADEMY. FLEXIBILITY AND DIVERSITY OF TRAINING CURRICULA ARE STRESSED. IT IS STATED THAT TRAINING PROGRAMS OF THE FUTURE ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE MEANS BY WHICH LAW ENFORCEMENT CAN PREPARE ITSELF TO ANTICIPATE CHANGE AND KEEP FROM BEING OVERWHELMED BY THE RESULTS OF CHANGE.
