This brief report presents some of the findings of the 1979 Ohio Law Enforcement Survey.
Abstract
Data were collected onsite in the summer and fall of 1979 from 82 sheriffs' departments and 182 police departments, representing about 90 percent of Ohio's jurisdictional population. The prime benefactors of this information should be the chiefs and sheriffs. The information is divided on the basis of jurisdictional size--large, medium, and small--and agency type--police and sheriff. The report covers the survey methodology, technical assistance needs and capabilities, budget, and fringe benefits. Appendixes include lists of cities and counties by size. Tables and four references are provided.
