This plan describes the role of the National Institute of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice and details its major research and development program priorities and funding plans for fiscal year 1971.
Abstract
Major interest areas are crime prevention and deterrence, the improvement of law enforcement operations and management, the improvement of prosecution and court processes, and offender rehabilitation and corrections. Other interest areas include the prevention and control of collective violence and organized crime, white-collar crime, evaluation, demonstration and dissemination of new technology, and the encouragement of criminal justice research. Descriptions are also provided of specific project plans within each interest area and of the Institute's role, organization, and contract and grant policy and procedures. Figures
