This document is the Program Performance Report for the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program for the period April 2011 through March 2012.
Abstract
The report focuses on activities conducted by law enforcement agencies that use JAG funds to support the work of task forces. These task forces are often multijurisdictional and may include agencies across several levels working to combat problems relevant to a specific area. Key findings from this report include the following: 91 percent of judicial search warrants served were at the State level; 74 percent of gang members who were arrested were charged with a felony; 69 percent of firearms seized were reported to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN); and 94 percent of defendants accepted for prosecution on felony charges were charged at the State level. The data in the report is presented in aggregated categories according to the following task force regions: Pacific, West Central, Southwest, Great Lakes, Southeast, New England, New York/New Jersey, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida/Caribbean.
